Don't Quit
When things go wrong as they sometimes will, When the road you're trudging seems all up hill, When the funds are low and the debts are high And you want to smile, but you have to sigh, When care is pressing you down a bit, Rest if you must, but don't you quit. Life is queer with its twists and turns, As every one of us sometimes learns, And many a failure turns about When he might have won had he stuck it out; Don't give up though the pace seems slow-- You may succeed with another blow, Success is failure turned inside out-- The silver tint of the clouds of doubt, And you never can tell how close you are, It may be near when it seems so far; So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit-- It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.

The reason people don't achieve what they want is because they don't dare to dream.
Today, visualize your greatest dreams coming true. Doing so lays the foundation for them to do so. Drown yourself in colors, images, emotions, passions, and triumphs. If you're doing it right, the most fantastical Hollywood production won't even come close to the splendor and grandeur of the things you come up with. ENJOY IT!!!!

In light of the present financial crisis, it's interesting to read what Thomas Jefferson said in 1802:
"I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered."

Buy retread tires
Did you know you will spend 30-50% less if you roll with a retread tire? Airlines, school buses, racing cars, and U.S. military vehicles use retreads – you can learn more at www.retread.org. Keep your tires properly inflated, too.

Are traditional cars really that bad?
The emissions from cars traveling in a region make driving the largest source of air pollution in cities2.
Gasoline and diesel powered motor vehicles generate almost 25% of the pollutants responsible for climate change3.
In addition to CO2, mobile emissions sources contain:
- Hydrocarbons
- Nitrogen Oxides (NOx)
- Carbon Monoxide
it creates:
- Asthma attacks
- Hodgkin's disease
- Lymphoma
- Lung Cancer 4
Air pollution from vehicle emissions can also create water quality problems and combine into new chemicals that damage buildings and crops.

The US Government under the Bush administration is supporting fuel cells, mainly at the behest of the oil companies. They know fuel cells will never be inexpensive, they are impractical, have problems with the weather and reliability, and the fuel source is oil anyway. Its a mean-spirited and cynical way of keeping us on oil for another 100 years. They've completely dropped any support for more practical battery-based vehicles.
Ethanol- The Global Impact - 10/10/2008
|

|
National problems with ethanol; but globally, they are devastating. Bio-fuels were supposed to decrease the effects of global warming, but the opposite is happening. World poverty issues are more threatening as food and fuel battle for farm space. A Time article stated that one person could be fed for a year on the corn needed to fill a SUV one time.
|
|
Brazil - The Success Story??
Brazil was thought to be the perfect model of bio-fuel success. The conversion of sugar cane into ethanol was the only green process, which was efficient enough to cut emissions by more than it takes to produce the fuel. However, that ceased to be the case when the Amazon rain forest started to be cut down to make more fields. In the last six months of 2007, an area the size of Rhode Island was lost to deforestation.

|
Europe Cuts Subsidies
Europe is cutting back on bio-fuel subsidies, realizing that they are not in line with the standards that they are designed to support. New measures are calling for strict guidelines that reflect whether or not the ethanol came from sustainable sources. Did the crop come from cleared forest or farmland? What net effect has the production of that ethanol had on the environment?

Ethanol Fuels Poverty
Spring of this year was marked with numerous riots in Haiti, Egypt, and other countries regarding basic food costs and shortages. The World Bank President, Zoellick, said we may have lost seven years in the fight on worldwide poverty. The effects are much worse than missed meals- they are talking about lost educations and stunted physical growth!
|
|
We understand the need to find greener energy alternatives. However, ethanol is one of the least environmentally friendly alternatives, and as taxpayers, we are subsidizing it, then paying higher prices for food as a result.

Did you know that at the time of President Kennedy we had only half the amount of people living on our Blue Planet? That alone is already one reason to be double EcoFriendly!

So:
We can't change the past, but we can choose to change the future. Your actions today change tomorows outcome. Choosing to change what you do today can save the future for your children and grandchildren! We either talk about change or we change, but we never do both at the same time. Actions speek louder than words!

Today is International Disturbed People's Day I don't care if you lick windows,
take the special bus
or occasionally pee on yourself..
You hang in there sunshine, you're friggin' special
Every sixty seconds you spend angry, upset or mad,
you wasted ONE full minute of happiness you'll never get back.:
Life is short, Break the rules, Forgive quickly, Kiss slowly, Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably.
And never regret anything that made you smile.
Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here Let's dance.
Just think a little about this, please:
There are several simple tests which have proven that CO2 absorbs and retains heat. That is really grade school science. The CO2 levels are at their highest point in at least 650,000 years, as evidenced by ice-core samples. So, when these levels rise, heat can't escape the atmosphere, and accumulates.
The Arctic and Antarctic are experiencing temperature changes faster than the rest of the planet. Last year, the Northwest Passage, that fabled but never found trade route North of Canada, was open for several weeks, something which hasn't happened in many thousands of years. This is a very big deal.
The changes are happening MUCH faster than even the most pessimistic of models, which put our North Pole as being ice-free in as little as 2020. That is only twelve years from now. That is a big deal.

These are changes which the human race has caused, and could also do much to undo. Your children as well as mine must grow up here. Do you not care to see them and all of your future descendants have a place that will support life? The technology to replace oil 100% is here, but is actively being suppressed by the oil industry. Do you honestly believe that in the last 100 years, after setting a man on the moon and numerous other technological advances, that we are stuck with 30 mpg? Or even 50? How about 200? Why not? The math says we can do it, RIGHT NOW. I live in Florida, where all of our electricity is Nuclear. If I had a battery operated car, and I charged it up anywhere in Florida, it would reduce the emissions to zero, other than manufacturing processes. Even these would go down if you really sharpened your pencil and chose your materials wisely. Think of it, an entire State effectively emission free! It is well within our grasp. Battery technology, in its present art, is good for about 75 to 90 miles, and most Americans drive under 50 miles per day not even talking about our Compressed Air driven Engine :-) WE CAN DO IT RIGHT NOW. But right now, the oil industry doesn't want you to have a better way, for that would drop profits. If you spent a dollar per second, for one million seconds, it would take you twelve days. To spend one billion dollars would take 32 years. To spend one trillion dollars would take 30,000 YEARS. Think of this when you hear about our National Debt. Our Government is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Oil Industry, and they want you to spend the maximum amount on your fuel. Even if it kills your children in the future! Think about that. And to the person who is going to censor this post, I particularly want YOU to think about what you are doing. You are helping to perpetrate a hoax, one with deadly consequences for everyone. Use your head. We only have one planet.
